Tender Mercy

One of my favorite people in the whole world passed away this past Friday morning. I love this picture of my Grandpa and I and this is how I'm going to remember him. My Grandparents just flew back a couple weeks ago. I truly believe with all of my heart that it's because of the Lord's tender mercy that they were able to get back. Especially to spend time with all of our huge family over Christmas. I had many special moments with him before he left and I am so incredibly grateful for them. I know that I will see him again and that there is life after death. I couldn't help but think of what a sweet reunion he is having with loved ones that have gone on before him. I also had this feeling that he is so happy. When my mom called to tell me that he was back in the hospital and that he only had a couple days left~I had this huge sense of urgency to get over to the hospital...I couldn't get over there fast enough. It just so happened that it was Dave's day off so he stayed home with the kids. My mom watched my sisters babies so they could go and my brothers came too. All 5 of us went and we were able to go together. Plus, the ICU usually only lets 1-2 people in at a time...they let all 5 of us go in. We even got to call Tifani and have her talk to him for a minute. We had the sweetest visit with him and we are all going to treasure that. We even sang him a song, "Families Can Be Together Forever". For those of you who don't know this song I will write the words. "I have a family here on earth. They are so good to me. I want to share my life with them through all eternity. Families can be together forever, through heavenly father's plan. I always want to be with my own family, and the Lord has shown me how I can. The Lord has shown me how I can." Granted, the song didn't sound the best coming out because we were crying so hard but it didn't matter. I am so grateful for the blessing of eternal families and that you can be together forever. I believe this with everything in me. I know we will see each other again. We could tell that he was getting really tired so we felt like we needed to go. What a sweet and miraculous man my Grandpa is. I am so grateful for those last moments that I had with him and I know it's because of the Lords grace. My siblings and I left there with a great feeling of peace and that everything was going to be OK. Less then 24 hours later he passed away. My heart is so full of gratitude and love for my Heavenly Father and that he allowed me to have that time with him. I have an enormous amount of love for my Grandpa and I'm so grateful that I was able to tell him so. What a blessing the past couple weeks have been for all of our family. Simply...
I am grateful.

Merry Christmas!

Believe it or not...this was our first Christmas morning by ourselves! In the almost 10 years that we've been married we have always been somewhere else with family. We were so excited to do our own thing and relax and just have fun with the kids. It was actually kind of strange though to have it be so quiet but it was nice too! All of Dave's side of the family were up at the cabin in Utah having Christmas together, we were the only ones not there. We just felt like it was time for us to stay home this year. We sure have missed being with everyone but it has really been nice to just be home! On Christmas Eve the kids get to open one present and it is always a new pair of pajamas...they were so excited!

~The difference between BOYS and GIRLS~

Christmas morning was fun and went by really fast! We are used to opening present up for 3-4 hours because we are usually with a lot of family. This year...we were done in about an hour! When we were done Dave started opening things and putting them together and I went into the kitchen to make a couple Quiche Lorraine to bring over for breakfast at my parents. My family has this tradition to have Belgium Waffles for breakfast on Christmas morning. On Dave's side it is totally different and Dave couldn't go without have his Quiche. So I made a couple and introduced them to my family...they had never tasted them before and it was a big hit!!

After breakfast we started opening presents up with my parents. Tyler got a fishing pole from Grandpa and they are going fishin' in a month...Tyler is so excited! Ashlynn got a whole bunch of Princess dress up shoes~she wore them so much that day she got blisters on her toes! My mom made the kids the most adorable rag quilts and had the sweetest stuffed animals rolled inside. The kids sleep with those blankets every night and just love them so much! We really had a nice holiday this year and we are just so grateful to be back home around so many loved ones! We have so many things to be grateful for!

Glasgow Family Party

Welcome to the annual Glasgow Family Christmas Party!! Every year my mom's family gets together before Christmas~we eat lot's of yummy food, do the nativity and have a talent show. This time was especially special because my grandparents are back. There was a lot of family that wasn't able to be there that we missed so much...Tif, that would be you!! Ashlynn was a little angle in the play and Tyler was a shepherd. We all crammed into one room and watched all the little kids do the Nativity...so sweet. Years ago my sisters started doing this performance for the talent show~they would wear tree skirts and sing and dance to a Carpenters Christmas song. It is pretty hilarious and I would always love seeing pictures and hearing about it because we weren't there. This year we decided to do this very last minute and we dragged mom and my brother Andrew into it too! We practiced so good and had it down perfect...but as you can see below we all were laughing so hard and forgetting things...but it sure makes for good t.v. We sure missed Tifani being there with us! In a few years we will all be together and you can bet that we will plan up something good! When you are ready to watch the video you have to scroll all the way to the very bottom of my blog and click on the box where my music is. Then click on the pause button to turn off the music, then go back up to my video and click the play button twice. Hope you enjoy and get a good laugh! Merry Christmas and Ho Ho Ho!!

Lindsey, Dara, Adria, Mom & Andrew Performing to "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" by the Carpenters. Thank you, thank you very much!

All Aboard the Polar Express!

Tyler had a ride on the Polar Express in his class on Friday! All the kids wore their pajamas to school~they had hot chocolate and doughnuts as they traveled to Santa's Village. They watched the movie and opened presents for the classroom together. He had such a fun morning and was so excited to see Santa! Ashlynn decided to go shopping while we were there...isn't that what girls do best anyway?

Welcome Home!!

My Grandparents have been serving a mission for our church in Louisville, Kentucky since May of this year. My Grandpa has been having a lot of health problems since they have been there. A couple weeks ago he was admitted into a hospital there and had a whole load of tests done. They found out that he has a form of cancer and that there is not much they can do. My mom and all of her siblings flew to Kentucky right away to be with their father and mother. My mom said that they had the most amazing time together there with their dad. They sat around and laughed, cried, and told tons of stories. What an amazing blessing that was for all for all of them to be together like that! They started radiation on Grandpa to shrink the masses in his back so that they wouldn't be pressing on his spinal cord and causing so much pain. Once he was stable enough they were going to come home. I am so incredibly grateful that they were able to come HOME! I have been asking Heavenly Father in my prayers each day to please let them come home...please let them come home. We have an enormous size family on my moms side and we have a lot of love to give to surround him with. What a emotional and very sweet moment that was to see my grandparents! I can't even explain how grateful I am to have them home! I am so grateful and love them so much!

We had a lot of the family there but there was a lot missing. This is only about half of us I want to say...but we were quite the crowd. We sure missed everyone that wasn't able to be there!

Welcome Home Grandpa & Grandma Glasgow!!

Temple Lights

This last Saturday we had to opportunity to go see the lights at the Temple. Our receptionist has been really interested in our church~so we invited her family to come with us to see the lights and walk around. They were so excited to come and we all had a really nice time together! Jodi has such a cute family and a sweet husband~it was such a neat experience to take them there. They both are wanting the missionaries to come over and share more about our church. It was really a wonderful night to share with them.

Candy House

This year I really wanted to get a Gingerbread house for the kids to make. I figured they were old enough to handle putting the candy on the house and not in their mouths. They did pretty good with the candy but I technically didn't say anything about the frosting. I had been putting if off for a couple days and we finally got to it two hours before our Christmas party on Saturday. Everyone was helping and trying to get it to work. We thought we were going to come home that night and it would have all fallen apart. But it stayed put...thank goodness! We ran out of frosting so we still have some to finish but I think it looks pretty dang good!

Walking through Bethlehem

On Saturday night our Church had their Christmas party with all of the members and any visitors/friends that wanted to come. The theme for the evening was "Return to Bethlehem". It was such a neat idea and we all really enjoyed ourselves. We were all asked to dress as close as we could to back then. Things started coming apart as the night went on but we tried! The cultural hall was all set up like the city. We had to sign this paper so that we were all accounted for and then we were given "money" and were taxed before we could enter into the city. Then we were able to use our money to visit the carpenter, baker, tailor, dairy, the Inn, etc. Dave and I were sitting on the floor eating and he said that it really felt like we were back in that day. It may be funny to say but it did feel that way...it was really cool. Then they had a program and did the Nativity. We all just sat on the floor...watching and singing songs together. What a neat experience that was to be there!

I've been "tagged" by my Sister

My sister Adria wanted me to do this so here it goes! I'm supposed to write 6 things that people wouldn't know about me. I hope I can come up with that many. My mind tends to go blank when I am put on the spot like this!

1. I get really freaked out if anyone tries to chase me or sneak up behind me! Even if I know that you are behind me and you say, "I'm gonna get ya!", it freaks me out so bad! I have to turn around and let you go past me.

2. My sister said this same thing...I can't dance! I am one of those people that feels the beat really good in my head and I can bop my head around just great. But when I get my body involved...they don't match up really well. I end up hurting myself when I try and move to the beat!

3. I really need to have MY QUIET/DOWN TIME. I do not function well when so much is going on that you can't think. I try to not over schedule my day and make sure that I have some down time. I really enjoy having an hour a day to relax and watch some t.v. or read or just take a nap. I actually really need it or I'm not in a very good mood.

4. I love to watch old movies! You know the ones that came out when they first started to add color? I just love them and could watch them all day long. They always make me feel good and happy and I love that!

5. I used to have a complex about my feet and my long toes. My sisters and I would never wear sandals that showed our toes...in Arizona that is kind of hard! My dad used to pretend to eat them when we were little and cover them in ketchup and mustard like they were hot dogs. Now my husband has taught me to love my feet and my sexy toes! Thanks babe!

6. I love looking at Cookbooks and getting ideas for new recipes! I could just sit for hours and look through books, magazines or friends recipes! I seriously will write things down or copy them to use later. This is one of my favorite things to do when I go visit my sweet friend Lisa.

OK Age...here you go...I did it! I know these things go around all the time but I would still like to tag a few people. I TAG Kirsten, Liz and Tanya! Good luck girls!

Birthday Dinner

Dec. 3rd was all around an important day because of two things...the office opened & it was also my birthday. There was so much going on that day that we weren't able to do much that night. Dave was really sweet and had some gifts and roses waiting for me when I got home that afternoon! We decided that we would go out to dinner at the end of the week when things had calmed down a little. Last night we went out with some friends that we have knows for many years! We have known Spencer and Irene Bybee since we were first married back in Utah. We were in the same ward, went to Lake Powell together, had our first babies a few weeks apart. After all this time they move down to Arizona and now we are back together hanging out again! It took us forever to find them down here, we had been trying to track them down for a few months. Somehow Dave found Spencer and the two of those boys played a huge trick on Irene and I and got us soooo good! We are so glad that they are here to hang with! Spencer has been an unbelievable help with getting the office ready! We love these guys!
