A couple weeks ago I had my extremely talented sister Lindsey take new pictures of my kids. I love that fact that we have a photographer in the family! She does such a good job and I never worry about them turning out good or not. She is amazing at what she does & I'm so grateful that she was able to do this for us!!
Thank you Linds!

The unplanned haircut

I knew that this day would come. One day I would walk in and find one of my kids with scissors giving themselves a makeover. But for some reason I seriously thought that I had sailed right on by that phase scott free. That was very wishful thinking on my part! A couple weeks ago I walked into my bedroom and found Tyler with scissors and his bangs were GONE! I was in total shock and asked him a question that I obviously knew the answer to..."DID YOU JUST CUT YOUR HAIR??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He looked at me right in the face and said, "no I didn't." Can you believe that? Not only did he cut his hair but he lied to me about it while he was holding the evidence in his hand! At that point I was more furious because he lied to me. Then I started to tell him that now we have to buzz his whole head off and then he started crying and freaking out. I don't think he understood what I was meaning because he thought that I was going to cut his head off. Needless to say we both needed to calm down and relax. Thank goodness that hair grows back and that this was Tyler and not Ashlynn! Dave came home and we went out back and started to buzz his head. We had to use the shortest guard because Ty cut his bangs so far down. Dave needed to get around his ear and took off the guard. Ty moved and Dave went right up the side of his head! It was taking everything in me to not freak out again. Dave tried to go around and fix it but it just wasn't working. So he had to finish his whole head with no guard... he pretty much looked like he had cancer or something. It was so sad and even more sad when Tyler looked at himself in the mirror. He was so embarrassed and scared to go to school. Hopefully now he learned his lesson to never mess with scissors again! He wouldn't let me take a picture of the finished look so I will have to post those later. It's been a couple weeks now and his hair has filled in and looks pretty good.

He is all ready for summer now...plus I told him he can swim faster now! I swear it is never dull around here....EVER!

Spring Break

This was our Spring Break in a nutshell. We weren't able to go out of town anywhere so we improvised. I think we did a pretty good job because at the end of the week I was exhausted and the kids had fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

In the community where we live they have a Easter Egg Hunt for everyone. We haven't ever gone to something like this and it was so much fun. I invited my good friend Shauna to come with her kids. Her husband was at school and mine was working. So we kept each other company and it worked out really well! They had a whole program planned and we ended up being there for a couple hours. We all met over by the water to watch the Easter Bunny come in on a boat. The kids thought that was cool! Then they had all of us gather in this open field in a huge circle. They brought out tons on eggs and scattered them all over the field. It was so great because they had different age groups that went together and brought out new eggs for each group. The kids went crazy...it was hilarious! They had face painting, balloons a magic show, and the Easter Bunny of course. Ashlynn wasn't too excited about sitting on his lap so I ended up sitting instead!
It really was a fun morning!

Look Out Below!!!

A few weeks ago early one morning we had some little visitors. Dave and I were in our room getting ready for the day and all of a sudden we heard this huge SPLASH in the pool! It seriously sounded like a person had fallen in the pool and we both freaked out thinking that one of the kids got into the pool. But then we were thinking that is impossible because everything is locked and the kids are watching cartoons. So we look outside and saw these little guys. What a relief! It took us a little while to get them out of the yard but they eventually flew away. Crazy! It was defiantly some good entertainment and the kids thought it was so cool that ducks fell from the sky and landed in the backyard.

Cute little Ashlynn
Ashlynn had her ballet and tap class yesterday. She finished her class and we were walking down the hallway. She walked up to the drinking fountain and pushed the handle...nothing came out. She kept pushing it for a minute even though I was telling her over and over that it didn't work. Being the stubborn mule that she is, she was still going to try. Finally she looks at me with a bit of a mean look..."MOM THIS DRINKING FOUNTAIN NEEDS BATTERIES!!!" Oh this little girl makes me laugh! Love her!

Watch Out...these things are dangerous!
Oh my this picture makes me laugh!!!! Poor woman! Anyway, I have a story to share...so yesterday I was down the street at a neighbors with some friends that were visiting for the week. Sonja, Linda, Sandy and I are sitting in the driveway talking and watching our kids and grandkids play together. Tyler finds a hula hoop and tries to figure it out. Sandy (who is a childhood friend that Dave grew up with) tries to show Tyler some tricks with the hoop. Tyler goes off and is trying to figure it all out. I'm sitting there talking and all of a sudden...BAM!!!!!! I just put my hands over my face and was thinking very quietly to myself, "what in the crap was that!!!???" Oh and, "wow this really hurts! This was totally one of those moments where everyone just stares at you because they don't know what else to do. It really is funny now that I think about it and when I share the story with others!

Easter Sunday
Here is a recent picture of our little bambinos. We took this right after church on Easter Sunday. It worked out good because I told the kids that they had to take a picture before they could go inside and see what the Easter Bunny had left them. A little bribery never hurt anyone right?! I can't believe how fast the kids are growing up. Before I know it the school year is going to be over and we will be in the blistering summer heat! I must be training these kids pretty good though because I didn't even tell them how to pose...they did it all on their own. Ashlynn's personality is pouring out and she is such a crack up! We love our kids!
